"As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in Colombia we are very excited to provide customers with new service to Barranquilla, a favorite destination for tourists and business travelers alike," said Art Torno, senior vice president – Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America. "This new destination in Colombia and five new routes reinforce American's commitment to serving Latin America and the Caribbean, providing customers more access to the region than any other U.S. airline."

Customers traveling from these destinations will have the ability to connect to nearly 200 destinations worldwide through American's extensive networks out of Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and Los Angeles. With these new routes, American will operate more than 1,750 weekly flights to 85 destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America. American added two new destinations to Latin America and the Caribbean in 2014, with new service between Miami and Cap-Haitien, Haiti (CAP), and service from both New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Miami to Campinas, Brazil (VCP).

These capital investments include fully lie-flat seats; international Wi-Fi; more in-flight entertainment options and power outlets; a new, modern design for Admirals Club lounges worldwide; and an upgraded assortment of complimentary healthy food, cocktails and more.
