BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Spirit Health Group today announces its member hospitals are hosting 75 events around the country throughout 2013 to battle heart disease in their communities by "dancing" their way to less risks and better health through the hosting of a DAY OF DANCE® for health. The national Day of Dance is February 23, 2013.
This select group of concerned and enthusiastic hospitals, doctors, and nurses are demonstrating that steps to "good health" do not have to feel like punishment and deprivation. Instead, through Day of Dance, better health is just a dance, good song, and happy people away. Events feature dance demonstrations, instruction, health screenings, heart-healthy food, exhibitors, and entertainment.
"For the past nine years, U.S. hospitals have hosted more than half a million women and their families in an exciting annual event that inspires us to view health and life as something fun, entertaining, and a part of everyday life," says Tanya Abreu, Chief Vision Officer, Spirit Health Group. "We provide concept and creative to our affiliated hospitals, but the communities dance it to life."
"From college marching bands to country-western line dancing, from salsa to hip hop, Day of Dance is full of variety, energy, and dedication around the country. Real Health in Action®!"
Each year more Americans die of cardiovascular disease than all other causes combined. Sadly, most early deaths from heart attack and stroke are preventable through awareness, lifestyle changes, and a doctor's evaluation.
Community outreach saves lives.
Day of Dance is a signature event of the Spirit of Women® Health Network, a coalition of American hospitals dedicated to advancing the cause and business of women's health. For more information, or to find an event near you, visit dayofdance.com or spiritofwomen.com.
