American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Hosts Historic Military Naturalization Ceremony During Patriot Days Celebration
FLINT, Texas, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) announced today a historic event to be held during the LHC Patriot Days celebration in September. AVTT and the Lake Havasu Hospitality Association will be co-hosting an outdoor Naturalization Ceremony where 25 diverse, multi-national US Service Personnel will take the Oath of Allegiance and become American citizens.
The ceremony will be conducted in front of AVTT's Traveling Wall and Cost of Freedom tributes on September 25, 2010 at Windsor Four State Park in Lake Havasu, AZ. Presiding over the ceremony will be Charles Harrell, Acting Field Office Director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Washington, DC. Local, state and US government leaders are expected to be present to honor and welcome the new Americans.
"There is no better way to demonstrate our appreciation for those service men and women from across the globe who are willing to risk their lives for American freedom and principles. We are thrilled to open our arms and hearts and welcome these individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to this great country," said Don Allen, CEO of AVTT and keynote speaker for the event.
Since 1952, the United States government has provided the ability of American service personnel to gain citizenship through military service. The personnel becoming American citizens represent all branches of the US military and represent 10 different countries of origin.
The historic ceremony will take place in conjunction with one of the "Largest Air Shows West of the Mississippi." The centerpiece of the event will be the American Heroes Air Show (www.heroes-airshow.com). Since 1993, American Heroes has grown to become the nation's premier, helicopter–only, admission-free aviation event in the nation.
AVTT (www.avtt.org) is a veteran-owned project that travels the USA to provide a forum for communities to HONOR-RESPECT-REMEMBER all who have sacrificed their lives for our country's freedom. In so doing, AVTT also honors all Veterans and those currently serving, by letting them know they will never be forgotten.
The Lake Havasu Community Patriot Days (www.lhcpatriotdays.com) celebration is to be a signature event that celebrates freedom, promotes patriotism and demonstrates community support for those men and women who have and continue to protect and defend us.
