ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The America's Road Team, with both current and veteran Captains competing, left Columbus with a number of honors from the 2010 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC). The Championships ran from Aug. 3-7, 2010 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

America's Road Team Captain Dennis Day was awarded the prestigious Neill Darmstadter Professional Excellence Award in recognition of his years of dedication to the National Truck Driving Championships. To be eligible for the award, a driver must either compete or volunteer for seven consecutive years prior. Dennis, who drives for Con-way Freight, is a member of the 2007-2008 America's Road Team.
America's Road Team Captain Clarence Jenkins, Jr. placed second in the Sleeper Berth competition at Nationals. Clarence who himself was the 2008 Neill Darmstadter Professional Excellence Award recipient, drives for UPS Freight and is a member of the 2007-2008 America's Road Team.
The honors for the only perfect score on the written test also went to a veteran America's Road Team Captain – Ina Daly. Ina, who drives for Con-way Freight, was a member of the 2001 America's Road Team.
In addition to the three Captains who took honors at the 2010 NTDC, 10 other Captains also competed.
The National Truck Driving Championships, considered the "Super Bowl of Safety," is sponsored annually by the American Trucking Associations.
