VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Amerigroup Corporation (NYSE: AGP) began serving members in its 13th state, Washington, effective July 1, 2012. Amerigroup Washington is one of five health plans selected by the state to provide managed care to more than 800,000 Medicaid and 40,000 Basic Health program beneficiaries statewide.

Amerigroup Washington is participating in the Healthy Options program, providing services for members enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and TANF-related Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), as well as seniors and people with disabilities who are not also eligible for Medicare. The Company will also coordinate care for members in the state's Basic Health program, which currently provides subsidized health coverage for additional low-income individuals and families.
