The new Board member is Dr. Winai Dahlan, M.Sc., Ph.D., founding director of the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Dahlan started his career as scientist in the medical laboratory at Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University before moving to be lecturer at Faculty of Science, Ramkhamhaeng University where he established the first scientific research unit of Food and Nutrition Research Center. He then founded the Halal Science Center in 2004, the first ever halal science institution in the world.
Dr. Dahlan's educational background includes a B.Sc. of biochemistry at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, an M.Sc. in nutrition from Mahidol University in Thailand, and a Ph.D. in Applied Medical Biology at Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
The Scientific Advisory Board is now composed of 13 leading scientists in the fields of nutrition, health and genetics from around the world.
