FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The State of Florida remains poised for the continued expansion of multi-modal transportation systems and it's proving to be an exciting time for marketing professionals in the industry. To help ensure marketers from across the state are ready to help promote all that is going on in the transportation industry, the American Public Transportation Association has recently awarded scholarships to its 2017 Marketing & Communications Workshop.
Amy Goldberg, a digital media analyst at Conceptual Communications, is among the scholarship recipients. Goldberg, along with dozens of other marketing professionals from across the state, will travel to Tampa, Florida to attend the workshop from Sunday, February 26, 2017 to Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
"I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to attend this workshop," Goldberg said. "Over these four days, I hope to gain insights for marketing transportation services through different channels like social media, traditional media and strategic creative partnerships."
The interactive and intensive workshop will focus on marketing and communications in public transportation, including customer service, social media, best practices and rider initiatives. To apply for the scholarship, Goldberg had to write a letter of interest detailing why she wanted to attend and her role at Conceptual Communications.
Amy and the Conceptual Communications team work with several clients in the transportation sector, including the Sun Trolley, Marine Hospitality, the South Florida Education Center TMA, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Riverwalk Water Trolley. In addition to educating and promoting the various transportation options supported by these organizations, the firm's focuses on a much larger goal.
"Our main focus is to continually increase engagement from community stakeholders," said Laurie Menekou Ernest-Jones, Founder of Conceptual Communications. "The more stakeholders we educate, the more likely they are to give alternative modes of transportation a try and make long-term investments in multi-modal transportation planning initiatives."
In her role as a digital media analyst at Conceptual Communications, Goldberg uses web analytics to help drive the marketing efforts for the firm's many public- and private-sector clients. Goldberg is a Broward County native, raised in Parkland, and she graduated from Florida State University in April 2016 with a major in marketing and a minor in communications.
"Our whole team is extremely supportive and proud of Amy," said Ernest-Jones. "We know she will come back from the workshop with a wealth of knowledge that will ultimately benefit all of our clients in the transportation sector."
