Amzur Announces Open Source Energy Dashboard
Amzur Technologies develops Open Source Cloud Based Energy Dashboard based on US Dept of Energy's Energy Databus
TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Amzur Technologies, Inc., a business consulting and IT services company, today announced it has released eNOS - an open source, cloud-based Energy Dashboard that collects, stores, processes, and presents energy use data in real-time.
eNOS provides users with a powerful and easy to use dashboard to monitor, measure and track electrical energy consumption from an individual circuit to multi-site locations.
The eNOS Dashboard uses standard web browsers and an open source, cloud-based database to provide real-time, detailed insight into energy consumption. The system can compare energy costs by load type (HVAC, lighting, and equipment) and usage levels (kWh and cost per sf) across multiple locations and facilities. The software provides users with actionable insights that allow organizations to identify and reduce energy and operational expenses.
eNOS is a cloud-based software-as-service platform that includes:
- An Energy Dashboard displays real-time and historical energy consumption data, providing a quick glance view of energy and operational information.
- Drill downs by building, load type and circuit allowing users to pinpoint energy waste and consumption or equipment irregularities.
- Comprehensive reporting of energy demand and generation for any location or circuit by any time period.
- A scalable platform that can support thousands of sensors and circuits and thousands of sites through a scalable architecture.
Azmur Technologies built eNOS (http://www.openenos.com) on top of the Energy DataBus (http://www.nrel.gov/analysis/databus/), an open-source system developed by the US Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL). The time-series data is stored in Cassandra (http://cassandra.apache.org/), a NoSQL database used by Netflix, EBay and over 1500 other companies. The relational tables are stored in a MySQL (http://www.mysql.com/) database and the dashboard was developed with Ruby on Rails (http://rubyonrails.org/).
Currently, eNOS is providing real-time data for a small, mixed-use Net Zero Energy campus, the Historic Green Village in Anna Maria, Florida (http://www.historicgreenvillage.com/). All five buildings at the Village are LEED Platinum certified.
