Angoss Introduces Predictive Analytics Software Suite Version 7.6
Features In-Database Analytics, Market Basket Analysis and Advanced Data Visualization Enhancements
TORONTO, Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Angoss Software Corporation (Angoss) (TSX-V: ANC) today introduced new features to its predictive analytics software suite version 7.6 which includes KnowledgeSEEKER®, KnowledgeSTUDIO® and StrategyBUILDER™. The new features differentiate Angoss' In-Database Analytics capabilities for superior performance, integrity and security of data in massive parallel processing environments. Market Basket Analysis enables users to quickly find associations between groups of items. Data visualization enhancements further improve productivity and usability making predictive analytics accessible and easy to use for technical and business users.
In-Database Analytics extensions in version 7.6 include full support for all Decision Tree and Strategy Tree functionality in-database, including scoring and model validation. Enterprises can now score and validate predictive models using extremely large datasets and numbers of predictive variables within the database. The In-Database Analytics module has been extensively tested and optimized for use with Teradata®, Microsoft® SQL Server and Netezza™ databases.
"Angoss KnowledgeSEEKER and KnowledgeSTUDIO complement and extend Teradata's Integrated Analytics portfolio with new in-database capabilities for the business community," said Chris Twogood, Director of Product and Services Marketing, Teradata Corporation. "Decision Trees and Strategy Trees can be rapidly built directly on data stored in Teradata and then put into action by performing In-Database scoring using those models. Complete end-to-end modeling and scoring is enabled without data ever leaving the data warehouse."
Market Basket Analysis is an advanced data modeling technique now included in KnowledgeSTUDIO for discovering associations between items or events and deriving rules that indicate whether certain events do or do not happen together. A typical Market Basket Analysis problem is to determine which products or product categories are likely to be purchased together. The resulting association rules can be used to build strategies for product promotions, placement and cross sell; and where users need to identify patterns of events or behavior from transactional data.
The introduction of KnowledgeSEEKER, KnowledgeSTUDIO and StrategyBUILDER version 7.6 allows businesses to accelerate their predictive analytic processes for technical and business users with increasingly intelligent models built in less time. Highlights include:
- In-Database Analytics Extensions - The In-Database Analytics module is significantly improved allowing users to perform the complete end-to-end analytics cycle directly from within the data warehouse. Scoring can now be performed in-database for Decision Tree and Strategy Tree predictive models. In-Database datasets can have calculated columns added in-database. Large enterprises benefit from superior performance, integrity and security of data in massive parallel processing environments.
- Market Basket Analysis - This new advanced model included in KnowledgeSTUDIO, enables users to quickly find associations between groups of items, and produce recommendations for the most likely items to add to a basket. Extensive charting capabilities for visualizing these relationships and recommendations are available. For example, visualizing the degree of attraction or repellence between items. Automatic SQL code generation options are included for rule deployment into a recommendation engine.
- Data Visualization Enhancements - Industry-leading tree functionality has been improved with innovative ways to build, view and work with Decision Trees and Strategy Trees. Pan and Zoom capabilities allow users to quickly, easily manipulate tree views. The new Mini-map view keeps users focused with scalable tree views, especially when working with very large trees. New search features allow for rapid navigation to splits on any variable. Users benefit with improved productivity and usability making predictive analytics accessible and easy to use for technical and business users.
"These new enhancements to In-Database Analytics capabilities for massive parallel processing environments, and new advanced predictive modeling options coupled with the endorsement of global 'big data' partners clearly demonstrate that Angoss continues to bring world-leading innovations to the predictive analytics space," remarked Martin Galligan, President and CEO of Angoss. "Users of Angoss software universally applaud our products for their ease of use, agility and impressive data visualization which allows analysts and business users to more effectively solve sales, marketing and risk challenges."
