Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation Encourages Children Worldwide to Pawticipate in Letter Writing Campaign to Stop the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in Asia
Leading Animal Activist and AHWF Founder Marc Ching to Personally Deliver Letters to Governor of the Guangxi Provence in June
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Prominent animal activist Marc Ching, Founder of The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation (AHWF), has launched a worldwide children's letter writing campaign to augment its ongoing efforts to pressure officials in China to stop the horrific Dog Meat Festival in Yulin.
In lieu of the common signed petition, the progressive non-profit is working in conjunction with its Animal Welfare Program in China to encourage children of all ages to write letters and lend their valuable voice to the voiceless. The 5-month campaign is taking place NOW through the beginning of June 2017.
With a goal of collecting 100,000 handwritten letters from children across the globe, AHWF is looking to parents, teachers, troop leaders and animal lovers everywhere to help facilitate the process to make this crucially important crusade a success.
Letters should be addressed to the governor of the Guangxi Provence, Mr. Chen Wu, and mailed to The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation at 14456 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, CA. 91423.
"Words and actions are powerful; used together they can create monumental and often much-needed change," said Ching who will personally deliver the letters to Mr. Chen Wu, governor of the Guangxi Provence. "Both are desperately needed to help put an end to the brutal and unfathomable dog meat trade in Asia."
"This is an impactful way to encourage children of all ages to use their voice to inspire positive change in the world," continued Ching. "A proactive and enlightening opportunity for kids to be part of something bigger than themselves and advocate for what they believe in; all while standing up, and speaking out, on behalf of innocent dogs everywhere."
Ching, who made international news last year for rescuing hundreds of dogs from the 2016 Yulin Dog Meat Festival, remains committed to raising awareness to expose the world to the unimaginable anguish, suffering and torture that these dogs endure in order to enact change and force the government to create laws to protect these precious animals from this unfounded, barbaric and cruel tradition. The Humane Society estimates that 30 million dogs are killed across Asia every year as part of the industry, with an estimated 10 million killed in China alone.
