Anomaly Expands Global Reach With Shanghai Office Opening
NEW YORK and SHANGHAI, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Anomaly has announced today it will open an office in Shanghai to further extend the brand's global footprint.
"We are thrilled to create a presence in Shanghai. As an agency, the market is a key engine for growth across virtually all of our clients. And as citizens of the world, when it is so significant a global factor on cultural and economic fronts, we must be a part of this change," said Carl Johnson, Founding Partner at Anomaly.
Anomaly is working closely with current global clients to help them drive success in this critical market - with Budweiser and Diageo at the forefront - while also continuing to leverage its own IP portfolio with Avec Eric and EOS.
Known for attracting pioneering, high-level talent and the best creative thinkers in the industry, the Anomaly Shanghai office will be led by Eric Lee (Managing Director) and Elvis Chau (Executive Creative Director) as Partners in the business. Both Lee and Chau have extensive experience in multiple Asia-Pacific markets and come to Anomaly from JWT Shanghai where they performed the same leadership roles.
"Marketers in China are no longer satisfied with what an advertising or digital agency can provide. They need an idea partner to solve their problems using a full spectrum of tools including product innovation, experiential enhancement, customer journey optimization, and creative communication. This is the new generation of agency model - and Anomaly's DNA." – Eric Lee, Managing Director
Chau has been awarded nearly every creative award in the marketing communications industry including China's first-ever Cannes Grand Prix, as well as being named one of Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business.
"Anomaly is not just a creative company. It is a creative community. Great talent matters immensely to us, and we aim to partner with the very best to deliver ground breaking solutions." – Elvis Chau, Executive Creative Director
The Shanghai office is a refurbished building in the French Concession on Wulumuqi Lu. Anomaly will occupy the 2nd and 3rd floors, with a total of over 950 sq. meters (10,000 sq. feet.) Opening in July, the office will start with a staff of 20 people.
Miles Nadal, Chairman and CEO of MDC Partners, of which Anomaly is a partner agency, added, "Anomaly's rapid global growth over the last three years has enabled it to offer progressive clients a new type of solution for an ever-evolving global business environment. As MDC Partners expands its Chinese presence, we look forward to continuing to fuel the ambition of Anomaly and its clients."
Founded in 2004, Anomaly is a difficult to define, but exciting to work at 'new model' agency with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, and Shanghai. The agency's blue chip client roster includes Budweiser, Converse, Diageo, Dick's Sporting Goods, Google, Marriott Hotel Group, Nike, and P&G. Anomaly has been recognized for a very wide range of work including Gold Effies for effectiveness in Media Strategy and as a Brand Owner; Lions, Cyber Lions, and a Grand Prix from Cannes; a Mercury Music Prize; and two Emmys for a TV series the agency created and co-owns.
