Officials from a top Fortune 100 media entertainment company and SunTrust Bank to be featured at May 25 event

GREENSBORO, N.C., May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A "lunch and learn" program scheduled for May 25 in the nation's capital will focus on how government finance leaders can use private sector best practices to prevent and recover losses due to improper payments and fraud.  Featured speakers include executives from a top Fortune 100 media entertainment company and Sun Trust Bank, who will discuss how they are using technology and internal controls to outwit fraudsters, prevent overpayments and recover lost dollars.

The session also will arm attendees for compliance with Public Law 111-204, the Improper Payment Elimination and Recovery Act of 2010 (IPERA).  IPERA compels   agencies to significantly reduce improper payments and allows them to reallocate up to 60 percent of what they recover to meet current-year budget needs.
