NEW YORK, April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AppNexus, the world's leading independent ad tech company, today announced the appointment of ad tech veteran AJ Kintner as VP of Sales (Americas) for the Advertiser Technology Group (ATG), the business unit dedicated to producing best-in-class technology for marketers, advertisers, and ad tech companies that serve buy-side market participants. In this role, Kintner will help reintroduce the company's demand side platform (DSP) to marketers and agencies in the Americas. His hire comes on the heels of the appointment of former Microsoft executive Owen Sagness as VP of Sales in Europe and signals the company's preparation for an aggressive sales push in the buy-side market. He will report to Marcus Startzel, Chief Revenue Officer, DSP.

Immediately prior to joining AppNexus, Kintner served as VP, Strategic and Platform Sales, at DoubleVerify where he helped networks integrate and implement DoubleVerify data directly into buying platforms. Previously he was VP of Sales at Adaptly, the marketing platform.
Earlier in his career, Kintner was the only sales person at Invite Media, where he served as Director of Sales. After Google acquired Invite, he remained as Director of Sales, Invite Media, Google. Kintner was also was one of the first employees at Atlas and helped to create that platform. He later served as account director at Right Media, where he was one of the first to sell large agencies on the concept of dynamic pricing across the Right Media Exchange. His 15 year+ career began as a Media Engineer at Avenue A.
