NEW YORK, May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Named after the vessel that saved the world's animals in the ancient narrative, ARKWEAR's seasonal collections are comprised of premium polo shirts, each embroidered with the image of an endangered animal on the verge of extinction. For each shirt sold, 5% of the proceeds is donated to the Wildlife Conservation Society, an organization dedicated to protecting wildlife.
Founder Andreas von der Goltz created ARKWEAR to celebrate his love of animals and contribute to their conservation: "I thought it would be really great if you could do something with animals for animals that are threatened with extinction, and at the same time have something with a logo that is not the same old boring crocodile."
Made entirely in Peru of the finest Peruvian Pima cotton, with just a touch of spandex for comfort, each ARKWEAR shirt is a timeless staple:
ARKWEAR's mission is twofold – to aid in the preservation of wildlife and at the same time offer an impeccably constructed, ultra-soft polo shirt. Put simply, ARKWEAR is made for the gentleman looking for a purpose behind his purchase.
About the Founder
Andreas von der Goltz
The desire to launch ARKWEAR was sparked from Andreas' upbringing within a socially conscious family with a profound appreciation for the environment.
In 1994 Andreas father built a rainforest Aerial Tram in the Braulio Carrillo National Park of Costa Rica to teach the local community how to utilize the environment to make a living, rather than profiting from its destruction.
Inspired by his own style, von der Goltz created the ARKWEAR line surrounding the things he cares about most – wildlife, and the environment that houses it.
