Arts And Culture Unites With Workers On This Labor Day In Maine
AUGUSTA, Maine, Aug. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Two events this Labor Day weekend will see an intentional increased use of arts, culture and entertainment in their programming to give a textured reflection on workers and working family issues in vivid, energetic ways.
In Central Maine
An annual day in the park gets a visual boost this year. The Central Maine Labor Council hosts "Wage Art!" featuring live painting of a n 8-foot canvas mural by participants, anchored by street artist Chris Stain. In addition, the event will have its usual variety of other features in the Capitol Park that day.

In Eastern Maine
The Eastern Maine Central Labor Council hosts "Raising Wages Rocks" featuring music by Portland-based funk band Sly Chi and DJ Baby Bok Choy. The event will also have numerous candidates in attendance plus its annually good provision of food, folks and fun.
