Dozens of laundry workers from around the New York area will converge on the Waldorf Astoria to protest Carnegie Linen Services abuses after the federal government found it guilty of committing civil labor law violations including attempting to bribe, assaulting and firing an employee. Gary Perlson, a principal of Carnegie Linen Services and Carnegie Valet Cleaning Corp is currently facing assault charges and is scheduled to go on trial October 15th. Perlson is standing trial for assault after throwing a cup of hot coffee in the face of an employee fighting for a fair and safe workplace.
WHAT: Dozens of laundry workers will march through NYC to the Waldorf Astoria hotel, where a delegation of laundry workers will attempt to meet with Astoria management to demand that the Waldorf stop using Carnegie Valet.
