ASSE President Rick Pollock Urges Obama Administration to Adopt I2P2 Standard for Workplace Safety
CHICAGO, May 20, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, American Society of Safety Engineers' President Rick Pollock sent a letter to President Obama urging the adoption of the injury and illness prevention program (I2P2). I2P2 would help ensure that all employers take responsibility for identifying safety and health risks in the workplace, and establish controls to manage those risks.
Pollock's letter comes in response to several workplace tragedies, including the April 17th West, TX fertilizer plan explosion and the recent garment factory disasters in Bangladesh.
