Asterion Multimedia Introduces New Software To Protect Media Assets From Pirates

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles based Asterion Multimedia has just unveiled its new software "framework" designed to thwart would-be thieves, media pirates and other criminal hackers from ripping off Hollywood movies from production companies large and small.  The innovation comes at a pivotal moment for the film industry which is increasingly under pressure from high profile hacking events that have resulted in millions of dollars in lost profits and, for some people, lost jobs.

The new software, the "Asterion Multimedia Framework," can store media files in a radically new way that tucks them deep into a database without any connection to insecure and easily searched computer file systems.  The result is the framework improves multimedia workflow and increases security. The Asterion Multimedia Framework can store, stream, transcode, perform workflow operations, edit and render content, as well as all other media operations, securely to-and-from a database.  Storing assets in the database ensures relational integrity and makes it nearly impossible for authorized users to misplace media.
