Asurion Expands into Latin America with America Movil

MEXICO CITY and NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Asurion, the global leader in technology protection services, today announced the company is expanding its product offerings into Latin America with a new partnership with Latin America's leading wireless communications provider, América Móvil (BMV: AMX) (NYSE: AMX) (NASDAQ: AMOV) (LATIBEX: XAMXL). The service launched with Telcel in January and protects devices from damage, including liquid damage and broken screens, mechanical and electrical malfunction, and theft.

Proteccion Móvil Telcel is available within 30 days of a new activation or upgrade and reconnects Telcel clients quickly with the same or comparable device model. Other features of the new protection service include:

• Clients will typically receive a replacement device within two tothree business days. 
• Enrolled clients will pay a monthly premium starting at 69 pesos depending on the device make and model, plus a deductible in the event they need to file a claim.
