MALVERN, Pa., June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) and the School and College Organization for Prevention Educators (SCOPE) are excited to announce the 2014 ATIXA/SCOPE Joint National Conference, October 12th-17th, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida. In recognition of the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization and the October 2014 implementation of Campus SaVE Act enforcement, ATIXA and SCOPE have come together to share knowledge and community across the fields of Title IX and prevention education.

Keynote Speaker
ATIXA and SCOPE are honored to announce Jackson Katz, Ph.D. as the Keynote Speaker at this year's Joint Conference. Dr. Katz is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work in gender violence prevention education in schools, the sports culture and the military, as well as for his pioneering work in critical media literacy. The keynote address, scheduled for Sunday evening, October 12th beginning at 7:00pm, will focus on rape culture and bystander intervention in the context of objectification and hypermasculinity.
