Atlantic Media's Defense One Hires Patrick Tucker as Technology Editor
Tucker joins rapidly growing media franchise to lead expanded coverage in defense technology
WASHINGTON, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Defense One Executive Editor Kevin Baron today announced the hiring of Patrick Tucker as Technology Editor. Launched in July 2013, Defense One is Atlantic Media's digital and events media brand serving the national security and defense leadership community.
Tucker comes to Defense One after a nine-year stint with the The Futurist, a bimonthly magazine published by the World Future Society. Tucker most recently served as deputy editor at the magazine, which explores the technological, scientific, environmental, social and policy trends shaping our collective future.

At The Futurist, Tucker wrote extensively on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybernetics, nanotechnology, emergency management and cutting-edge technology. His work has also been published in publications and sites such as Slate, MIT Technology Review, The Wilson Quarterly, BBC Magazine, and the Discovery Channel. Tucker has appeared as a guest on WTOP, BBC News, BBC World Service, Fox and Friends, and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, and he has authored a book entitled "The Naked Future: What Happens in a World That Anticipates Your Every Move?," which will be released in the spring of 2014.
Tucker joins a rapidly growing Defense One team that has driven explosive audience growth.
