Most recently, Mr. Sharp was the President and GM of The National Food Laboratory, acquired in 2015 by LabCorp ($9B revenue), where he grew the business substantially while focusing efforts on product design and food safety. Prior to The National Food Laboratory, Austin held executive roles with Clif Bar, Francis Coppola Winery, Jim Beam Brands, Citigroup and TastingRoom.com. Mr. Sharp will leverage his 20+ years of experience to build out the HDS retail platform, partnering with like-minded companies around the world.
"HDS represents the future of ecommerce, solving today's grocery and merchandise delivery problems and bringing an unparalleled level of quality, service and value to consumers. I'm incredibly excited to join this talented team," said Mr. Sharp.
"The fact that we are attracting highly sought-after CEOs from successfully acquired companies to run our key divisions is a strong indicator of the HDS opportunity," said Louis H. Borders, founder and CEO of HDS. "Austin is a proven leader with deep roots in operations, ecommerce and the food industry, and had tremendous success with The National Food Lab. We're excited to have HDS' retail operations under his stewardship."
HDS will offer consumers a one-stop online mall with competitive prices, unlimited selection, superior one-cart convenience, free delivery and one-hour express service on fresher-than-store groceries and general merchandise from the world's leading retailers.
HDS will launch its retail ecommerce service in the San Francisco Bay Area in early 2018. To learn more about HDS, visit www.hdsglobal.com.
