AutoNation Announces August 2011 Retail New Vehicle Unit Sales - August 2011 retail new vehicle unit sales decreased 3% versus August 2010
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), America's largest automotive retailer, today announced that its retail new vehicle unit sales in August 2011, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, totaled 18,121, a decrease of 3% as compared to August 2010. Retail new vehicle unit sales in August 2011 for AutoNation's operating segments were as follows:
- 5,788 for Domestic, up 7% versus August 2010,
- 8,996 for Import, down 10% versus August 2010, and
- 3,337 for Premium Luxury, up 3% versus August 2010.
AutoNation will report September retail new vehicle sales on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.
