Autumn Spectacular Makes the Town of Frisco the Perfect Colorado "Staycation" this September
Beetlefest, Fall into Fashion sidewalk sale, the Bike Park grand opening, lodging steals and restaurant deals are the highlights of Autumn Spectacular
FRISCO, Colo., Sept. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The tourists are back to work and back in school, the temperatures are back to "beautiful," the aspen trees are the perfect shade of golden, and the Town of Frisco is packed full of events and outdoor fun to make Autumn, well, spectacular.
September 10-24, 2011, the Town of Frisco will host Autumn Spectacular, a two-week long celebration of everything Fall, including leaf-peeping hikes and excursions, the Adventure Bike Park grand opening, and Beetlefest, which is an environmental event focused on saving and replenishing Colorado's lodge pole pine forests ravaged by the evil pine beetle.
Autumn Spectacular will offer lodging, restaurants, and shopping specials and deals ranging from $9.97 to $90.97. The Best Western is offering a nightly rate of $90.97, including a bottle of Hob Nob wine. Galena Street Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast, is offering a two-night stay for only $90.97. Tuscato's Italian Ristoriante will have a three course menu for four for $90.97, and Prost is offering a half a liter of German beer and a gourmet brat for only $9.97. Our sponsor, Hob Nob Wines will also provide deals on wine. Visitors should call lodgers and restaurants directly to find out about Autumn Spectacular deals.
Beetlefest kicks off Autumn Spectacular on Sept. 10 and is the signature event. Along with bringing environmental awareness about the pine beetle epidemic, Beetlefest raises much-needed money to help support the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District. Lumberjack shows, wood-carving, a bug petting zoo, a 4K run, live music, the chance to bash a V.W. bug, and much more make Beetlefest the perfect Fall event.
Leaf peepers can call Frisco home as they set out on one of dozens of scenic roadways and trails to catch the Fall color. Check in the Visitors Center to find the best hikes and drives in the area. Plus, on Sept. 17, visitors can stroll down Frisco's Main Street and shop the Fall into Fashion sidewalk sale at one of 40 unique shops.
The much-anticipated grand opening of the Frisco Adventure Park Bike Park will wrap up Autumn Spectacular on Sept. 24, 2011. The day-long festivities will give amateurs and pros, kids and grown-ups alike the chance to compete and show their biking prowess on the slopestyle course, dirt jump facility or pump track. The celebration starts at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony and finishes at 5:30 p.m. with a concert by Denver's P-Nuckle. The Adventure Park is a year-round playground that hosts a five-lane tubing hill and a snow terrain park in the winter.
