Reference designs are available for both the AP (access point) and the client terminal. The AP supports up to 8,000 terminals with bit rates from 150kbps up to 15Mbps using 1, 2, or 4MHz channel bandwidths. The client terminal supports bit rates from 150kBps up to 1.950Mbps. These designs are optimized for cost and performance and comply with the latest IEEE 802.11ah standards.
The reference design, based on the Newracom NRC7271 802.11ah baseband IC and the Aviacomm ARF3010 RFIC will be available from Newracom this fall.
