Aviat Networks to Close Its Research Triangle Park, N.C. Facility

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aviat Networks, Inc. ("Aviat,"Nasdaq: AVNW), a leading wireless expert in advanced IP network migration, today announced that it will close its Research Triangle Park Region (RTP), N.C. facility.

The closure of the RTP facility is one of the key actions within the Company's corporate restructuring plan to reduce annual spending by $30 to $35 million, announced earlier this month. Aviat Networks expects the closure to affect the majority employees at the RTP facility over the next six months. As part of the closure, several RTP business functions will be relocated to the Company's other facilities during a transition period.  These relocations include the following:

• The Network Operations Center will be moving to Aviat Networks' San Antonio facility.
• IT/Network and Applications Support will be reassigned to Santa Clara.
• Finance operations will be consolidated and moved to Santa Clara.
• Certain engineering functions will be moved to select facilities in Slovenia and New Zealand.
