Inglath Cooper, the RITA® Award-winning author, has announced she is sponsoring a photography contest fundraiser to benefit the Franklin County Humane Society
ROCKY MOUNT, Va., Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RITA® Award-winning author Inglath Cooper has today announced her sponsorship of a photography contest fundraiser to help raise needed funds to support the Franklin County Humane Society.
"The rescue dogs and cats in my life have brought me and my family such joy," stated the author. "The love they give back has no strings attached. It's just pure and simple. All of our dogs and cats were rescued from high kill shelters. To think that they were ever in such a place is unimaginable to me."
Entrants can upload a photo of their beloved dog or cat and enjoy the chance to win one of a number of prizes. Each photo uploaded will be voted on by participants. Each vote costs $1. Participants are able to vote as often as they want, but votes must be purchased in blocks of 5 ($5), and cast in increments of 5. Votes can be spread across multiple photos, and pet owners are allowed to vote for their own pets.
"Rescue has been an unbelievably rewarding part of my life and the books I write," stated Cooper. "I am really happy to be able to sponsor a fundraiser to help an organization like the Franklin County Humane Society because this group has saved so many deserving lives."
The top 100 entries with 25 votes or more will be included in an ebook created exclusively for them by Inglath Cooper. The book will also be made available on Amazon, and all sales proceeds will go to benefit the Franklin County Humane Society.
Other prizes include a Lucky Dog Bed from Uttermost, valued at $450, a Big Rusty Statue donated to the fundraiser by Uttermost, a set of bulldog bookends and more. Prizes run through 10th place. The contest is currently open and will run until 9 PM October 26, 2014.
