Azcom Technology Announces Design Service Support for Texas Instruments' New TMS320TCI6616 Base Station SoC and TMS320C6670 Multicore DSP
MUNICH, Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- ELECTRONICA -- Azcom Technology, a leading provider of services and solutions in the wireless communications domain, today announced comprehensive support for Texas Instruments' Incorporated (TI) TMS320TCI6616 base station System-on-Chip (SoC) and TMS320C6670 multicore digital signal processor (DSP). The support includes customized hardware development, both baseband and RF, software development such as operating system (OS) porting, device drivers and board support package (BSP), and support for TI libraries in the area of LTE and W-CDMA.
Azcom Technology already provides W-CDMA PHY processing layer stack for TI's current TMS320C64x+™ DSP generation, which will soon also be available for the new C66x DSPs. Additionally, Azcom Technology will be providing LTE PHY in the second half of 2011, which will be targeted and optimized to run on the C66x devices, in order to gain all the possible advantages from the powerful accelerators TI's DSPs provide.
"We have a decade long experience in radio access system development and extensive expertise across different TI DSP platforms," said Ajit Singh, managing director, Azcom Technology." These are highly complemented by our design service for hardware and software development which makes us ideally positioned to support our customers in the entire product development cycle."
Azcom Technology has worked on TI platforms used in RNCs and multi-media gateway and developed a multi-UE test terminal. In addition, Azcom Technology provides services in protocol stack development, testing and system integration and embedded system development across different application areas.
"Just as in the commercial telecom space, we find that customers in mission critical segments, such as defense and public safety, are looking for software defined, flexible deployment of multi-standard waveforms such as LTE, W-CDMA, as well as proprietary air-interfaces," said Mukesh Kumar, DSP marketing manager, TI. "Azcom's experience with TI devices and wireless physical layers allows customers to more easily and quickly enable desired solutions on TI DSPs. By harnessing their extensive experience on various TI platforms, Azcom is able to deliver extremely versatile and powerful libraries for TI's new TMS320C66x DSP generation."
