BABSON PARK, Mass., Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Babson College Entrepreneurship Professor Joel Shulman is launching a new mutual fund that invests in "Entrepreneurial" companies.

The new fund (ticker IMPAX), considered the first-of-its-kind, has been funded with over $120M in institutional capital.

Professor Shulman's private funds have an 8+ year performance track record and are based on his proprietary models for selecting entrepreneurial companies. YTD performance for the US All Cap fund is over 41% and approaches 50% for US Large Caps.

Historically, "Entrepreneur" funds provide very strong up-capture and risk-adjusted alpha relative to their benchmarks, though dip comparably when markets are weak.

In addition to the seed capital for the US All Cap Fund, the firm has just received $70M+ capital commitments for a US Large Cap fund. Expected launch date is scheduled for early 2014.

Dr. Shulman is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Cash Manager. He directs the Shulman CFA Review Program which provides training for investment professionals throughout the world. He is author or coauthor of numerous academic articles and books including Encyclopedia of Business, Leasing for Profit, Alternatives to Conventional Financing, Planning Cash Flow, How to Effectively Manage Corporate Cash, A Manager's Guide to Financial Analysis, The Job of Corporate Controller, and How to Manage and Evaluate Capital Expenditures.
