Bahrain Ambassador Promotes Trade And Investment In Speech To DC Business Group
MANAMA, Bahrain, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, Bahrain's ambassador to the United States, Houda Nonoo, discussed the importance of the long-standing U.S.-Bahraini commercial relationship and the current state of affairs in the Kingdom with the Washington International Business Council at the Cosmos Club.
During her remarks, Ambassador Nonoo highlighted Bahrain's longstanding commitment to trade and commerce and emphasized the critical role trade plays in the U.S.-Bahrain alliance.
Following her speech, Ambassador Nonoo said, "Bahrain values its longstanding business partnership with the United States. Bahrain is a great place for Americans to do business and our commercial relationship complements our decades-long political-security relationship in a way that benefits both our nations."
Ambassador Nonoo also highlighted the benefits of The U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement - which has successfully increased trade and strengthened relations between Bahrain and the United States going into effect in 2006. Last year, bilateral trade exceeded $1.7 billion.
