KILMARNOCK, Va., Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of Lancaster (the "Bank"), an affiliate of Bay Banks of Virginia, Inc. (OTCQB: BAYK) announces a promotion.
Randal R. Greene, President and CEO of Bank of Lancaster and Bay Banks of Virginia, announced that the Bank's Board of Directors has promoted Douglas F. Jenkins, Jr. to the office of Chief Banking Officer.
Jenkins, Executive Vice President and second in command of the Bank, is responsible for the oversight of all lending and retail delivery operations. Jenkins joined Bank of Lancaster in April 2006 as Vice President, Business Development Officer. In May 2008, he was elevated to Senior Lending Officer responsible for supervising all lending areas of the Bank and in 2009 was promoted to Senior Vice President. In June 2011, he assumed responsibility for Retail Delivery and in December of that year was elected by the Bank's Board to the position of Executive Vice President.
Prior to joining Bank of Lancaster, Jenkins was Vice President and Client Manager for the Financial Institutions Group of SunTrust Bank in Richmond. Jenkins has 30 years of banking experience, having started his banking career with United Virginia bank in 1985.
A native of Westmoreland County, Jenkins graduated from Washington & Lee High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.
Jenkins is a past Director of the Virginia Association of Community Banks.
Active in his community, Jenkins is a member and past President of the Warsaw Rotary Club, and a Deacon and Trustee of Menokin Baptist church in Warsaw. He is a past Board Member of the Richmond/Westmoreland Habitat for Humanity.
Jenkins and his wife, Aimee, reside in Warsaw. They have a daughter, Afton, who was recently married and resides in Richmond.
