SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla., Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Healthcare Group, the leading national provider of financing to healthcare professionals, recently concluded their inaugural Send A Smile campaign. The initiative teamed BHG and their healthcare clientele with Operation Smile, an international medical charity dedicated to healing children's smiles.
According to Dr. Bill Magee, Co-Founder and CEO of Operation Smile, corporate partnerships like this are extremely valuable for bringing awareness to the need for both funds and medical volunteers and to help make it possible for Operation Smile to carry out its mission. "We are so grateful to BHG and its customers for helping us expand our outreach. Your contributions will serve as an investment in communities worldwide to give children born with facial deformities the chance for a bright future."
Through the campaign, BHG and Operation Smile set out to provide reconstructive surgeries for children and young adults born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate. The campaign was an overwhelming success, leading to the donation of more than 100 surgeries for children worldwide.
"The Send A Smile campaign has provided our entire organization with the special opportunity to be a part of these life-changing procedures," said Bob Castro, owner and president of BHG. "Operation Smile has been a great partner and we are already looking forward to the start of the 2014 campaign."
In addition to donating surgeries, BHG and Operation Smile also hope that the campaign can help raise awareness and support from within the healthcare community. To date, more than 5,000 healthcare professionals have volunteered with Operation Smile to provide surgeries and training around the world.
