SAN MARCOS, Texas, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bautex Systems today announced it has expanded its distribution network for its Bautex Wall System in North and West Texas in a new arrangement with industry leader Acme Brick Company. Acme Brick will represent Bautex products to its customers designing and constructing buildings for government and commercial markets, including K-12, higher education, office, retail, hospitality, and residential projects whose owners want to meet the highest standards for energy efficiency, sustainability, durability and safety from windstorm and fire.
"Working with Acme Brick, Bautex gains access to some of the industry's best design and installation professionals who understand the value of a more efficient and higher performing wall system," says Paul Brown, president, Bautex Systems. "Acme Brick has been meeting the needs of architects, general contractors, masonry contractors, developers and homebuilders for many years, and their team is doing an excellent job of communicating the simplicity and value of the Bautex Wall System to the design and construction community."
The Bautex Wall System is built on the company's composite insulating concrete form (ICF) known as the Bautex Block, a lightweight building block made from beads of expanded polystyrene blended with a proprietary cement mixture. Unlike styrofoam-based ICF systems, the Bautex Block is simple and quick to install without the need for specialized equipment or installers, can easily be cut and formed to meet any design requirement, and uses 50 percent less concrete and steel than traditional ICF walls. The Bautex wall may be finished with traditional masonry, stucco or panel exterior finishes.
"Our goal at Acme Brick is to serve customers for a lifetime. Our commercial and government customers need masonry products and solutions that meet the evolving requirements for energy efficiency and durability," says Stan McCarthy, senior vice president of sales for Acme Brick Company. "Bautex Block solves that need and we're proud to add the Bautex Block and wall system next to our offerings along with our Acme Brick clay and stone products."
North and West Texas are new markets for Bautex, which launched its operations in Central Texas in 2013 and entered the Houston market the same year. In 2013, the Bautex Wall System was selected for two projects at Sea Scout Base on Galveston Island. Architects selected Bautex products in order to elevate an existing building 13 feet to get it out of the hurricane flood surge zone. In a second installation, the Bautex Wall System formed exterior and interior walls for a new, five-story dormitory.
"Whether building owners and developers are facing the challenges of energy efficiency, fire safety, windstorm protection or all three, Bautex is ready for opportunities to build in Texas," adds Brown.
