BeanTree Learning Families Contribute New Books Supporting Literacy Efforts of Loudoun County Child Find
LEESBURG, Va., May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Young students attending BeanTree Learning eagerly arrived at the private school's 6th Annual Family Picnic not only ready for fun, but prepared to make a difference. More than 300 families attended the spring ritual at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg with new children's books in hand to support the school's annual "Love of Literacy" Campaign. Everything from Corduroy, Beatrix Potter, Mother Goose, and A Wrinkle in Time made the list of new books donated to Loudoun County's Child Find program.
"We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the children and the families at BeanTree Learning. It is always so astounding to receive a new supply of books for the children to enjoy with our faculty. This year's donations will truly help serve our students throughout the Loudoun County area during the school year as our teachers strive to provide them with the benefits of reading at an early age," said Ann Mulhall, Coordinator for Loudoun County Child Find.
BeanTree Learning launched its "Love of Literacy" Campaign three years ago in an effort to raise awareness of the need for early literacy programs for children and to promote charitable giving within its student body of preschool and school age students. "Our 'Love of Literacy' Campaign is our way of giving back to the community we serve every single day. It gives us so much joy to make a difference and it is wonderful to see the children's faces as they proudly donate each new book for other children to enjoy," said Jennifer Bower, owner and founder of BeanTree Learning.
Since launching "Love of Literacy," BeanTree Learning families have provided nearly 2,000 new children's books to several worthwhile organizations including the Northern Virginia Literacy Council, Loudoun Literacy, Fairfax County Child Find, and Loudoun County Child Find, which also received book donations from BeanTree in 2009.
