ZERO's Grow & Give Fundraising Campaign Returns This November
WASHINGTON, Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer's facial hair-growing fundraiser, Grow & Give, returns for a second year this November to spread awareness and raise funds to end a disease that takes the life of a father, son, brother, husband, or friend every 19 minutes. The campaign aims to raise $100,000 to help end prostate cancer by advancing research, encouraging action, and providing education and support to men and their families.
"At ZERO, we're committed to ending prostate cancer 365 days of the year," said ZERO CEO Jamie Bearse. "We've joined the hair growing phenomenon to provide an outlet for supporters to have fun but also give back exclusively to a cause that is close to their hearts. By bearding up to do good, we can make ending prostate cancer a national priority and realize Generation ZERO – the first generation of men free from prostate cancer."
ZERO's Grow & Give fundraiser begins November 1, but participants can get a head start now and continue all month long. To participate, all you need to do is set up a webpage and encourage your friends and family to support your journey to facial hair cred. Go it alone or create a team, either way all manner of facial hair is accepted. Staches, goatees, soul patches, beards, chops, burns, you name it, we want you to grow it. It's fun, easy, and it saves lives! Ladies can join in the fun by starting a team, fundraising, and getting the men in their lives to make their health a priority.
Grow & Give provides a great opportunity for organizations to form teams, have a friendly, morale-boosting competition, and give back to men and families in their community. In 2014, financial services firm Baird participated and raised more than $20,000. "Baird is excited to come back bigger and furrier in 2015 to help fight prostate cancer," said Jason Montague, a team captain and top fundraiser for Baird.
Unlike other hair growing campaigns, your fundraising dollars go directly to ZERO's mission, with 97 cents on every dollar going towards programs and activities to end prostate cancer. Help us spread the word and by tagging photos of your progress with #growandgive. Grow & Give partners include Wahl, Rosenthal Auto, Zinburger, Mustache Vineyards, World Rugby Store, and Pet Lifestyle and You.
