Beringer Founders' Estate Wines Team Up with Birdies for the Brave® to Give Aid to U.S. Military and their Families
NAPA, Calif., May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Throughout the months of May and June, Beringer Vineyards will donate $1 for every bottle of Beringer Founders' Estate wine sold to Birdies for the Brave. Beringer Vineyards is proud to announce its support for Birdies for the Brave, a military outreach initiative proudly supported by the PGA TOUR® that is dedicated to honoring and showing appreciation to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
As the official wine sponsor of the PGA TOUR, Beringer Vineyards is honored to extend its sponsorship by supporting this important charity. Originally created by PGA TOUR player Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, Birdies for the Brave benefits nine national military homefront groups that provide critical programs and services to meet the specialized needs of wounded service members and military families – ranging from housing and financial aid to rehabilitation programs, educational scholarships and career counseling and placement. Birdies for the Brave also conducts military outreach and appreciation activities during tournaments on the PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour and Champions Tour.
"We're honored to be able to contribute to such an important charitable organization, and thank the brave men and women of our country who have and continue to sacrifice on our behalf. As one of the most iconic wineries in the Napa Valley as well as the U.S., we are pleased to offer consumers a way to give back to our nation's heroes while enjoying our wines," said Barry Sheridan, Vice President of Marketing for Beringer Vineyards.
Special point of sale materials will be displayed in retailers throughout the country during those months highlighting the contribution and Beringer will donate up to $50,000 in total. The program applies to the entire line of Beringer Founders' Estate wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Smooth Red Blend.
