Big Brothers Big Sisters Announces New Member to Executive Team
IRVING, Texas, Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star announced today that Keith Rhodes has joined their staff as Executive Vice President of Development. "We are very excited to have Keith on our team. He brings many years of experience and a contagious winning attitude," stated Rob Roby, Chief Executive Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Prior to joining the Texas team Keith held the position of Chief Operating Officer for the National Office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Keith also served as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, California. The Orange County affiliate is the largest in California and expanded to new territories under his administration with record growth in all areas and continues to thrive as a result of the strong relationships that have been stewarded.
Keith has dedicated the last 24 years of his life to helping abused, neglected and other children facing adversity. Prior to joining the Orange County agency, he was Executive Director of Father Flanagan's Boys Town California (2007-2010). Before moving to California, he was CEO of the Methodist Children's Home in New Orleans, Louisiana (2000-2007), where he endured Hurricane Katrina and raised significant resources to restore his agency to full operation within six months.
Keith was born and raised in rural Alaska and is the son of an Alaska State Trooper. He attended Grambling State University in Louisiana, where he excelled as a student athlete prior to launching his career in the nonprofit arena. Keith holds a Master's of Science in Criminology from Grambling and has had extensive training in donor cultivation and stewardship.
Keith is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has also worked as a consultant on fundraising metrics and outcomes. Keith is a motivational speaker and member of Rotary International, and is involved with Second Harvest Food Bank, Boy Scouts of America and the California State Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee. He is a Certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Instructor, Eagle Peer Reviewer and a member of the National Violence Prevention Council-CDC. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors of North Texas LEAD and is a Security Threat Group Instructor for the U.S. Bureau of Corrections.
