MINNEAPOLIS, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Bio-Techne again disrupts protein analysis technology with the introduction of the newest member of their ProteinSimple-branded Simple Western family, Jess. This evolutionary technology simplifies protein expression analysis, while speeding up time to result. Jess automates both the protein separation and immunodetection elements characteristic of traditional protein analysis techniques, eliminating many of the tedious, error-prone steps. Samples, antibodies and reagents are loaded into a microplate and Jess then separates proteins by size, and precisely manages antibody additions, incubations, washes and even detection. In about 3 hours, she will analyze up to 25 samples, giving researchers quantitative, size-based data in just a few clicks.

Jess builds on current Simple Western technology–her chemiluminescent detection gives picogram-level sensitivity, enabling researchers to maximize the data they obtain from their samples. New fluorescent modes enable the detection of wavelengths in the infrared and near-infrared spectrum, bringing definitive multiplexing capabilities to the Simple Western platform for the first time. Additional features include an in-capillary protein normalization reagent and a Western blot imaging system for traditional blotting membranes.
