Biomerics Announces The Creation Of Its New Biomerics Advanced Laser Divison

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Biomerics, a leading contract manufacturer for the medical device industry, announced the creation of its new Biomerics Advanced Laser division. Biomerics Advanced Laser will specialize in laser welding, cutting, ablating, and marking metal and plastic materials within the precision medical device market.

The new division will use state-of-the-art technology—including Nd:YAG lasers, fiber lasers, and ultrafast lasers—to provide its customers with unrivaled capabilities. Biomerics Advanced Laser will also offer a portfolio of secondary processes—such as cleaning, passivation, heat setting and electropolishing—that will allow it to provide beginning-to-end solutions to the precision medical device market. Biomerics Advanced Laser's product offerings will include precision tubes, stents, valve bodies, specialty surgical device components, implantables, and catheter systems.

Biomerics Advanced Laser—which will have expertise in areas like laser fabrication of flat stock, metal tubes, plastic tubes, electrodes, bands, wire assemblies, and cannula assemblies—will be led by Mark Dustrude.

Biomerics Advanced Laser will be located in Brooklyn Park, MN within Biomerics' 72,000 square foot facility. The facility, which is ISO-13485 certified and FDA registered, is currently home to Biomerics Advanced Catheter—a division of Biomerics dedicated to the design, development, and production of advanced catheters and device leads.
