Black Women's Roundtable "Power of the Sister Vote" Discussion at CBCF ALC

WASHINGTON, Sept. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation's (NCBCP) Black Women's Roundtable and Congressional Black Caucus Foundation will co-host the fourth annual Power of the Sister Vote in 2012 and Beyond Intergenerational Policy Forum Series as an official session of the 2012 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference. The intergenerational discussion will address the three pronged strategy being used to thwart black voting power. The participants will also discuss what is going on in the states and specific tactics to mobilize and protect the black vote.
Panel 1
Where the Candidates Stand – Participants will talk about where the candidates stand on issues that impact black women with a particular emphasis on education, jobs and the economy, and ending poverty.
The Attack Against the Black Vote: What's Happening Now – Participants will address voter suppression efforts and voter protection initiatives.
Panel 2:
Sisters Rising: Conversation on the Frontlines: Women working on campaigns in local communities will discuss the various voter engagement efforts on the ground.
48 Days and Counting—What we need to do for the next 48 days to make sure the black community is prepared with proper ID and gets out to vote early or on Election Day.
