DALLAS, Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Daniel A. Gillett, a founding partner in Blackhill Partners, LLC and an accomplished investment banker and restructuring executive, has rejoined the firm. Mr. Gillett has more than 30 years of investment banking and senior executive experience, with much of that time spent working on financially distressed situations. Along with investment banking advisory work, his experience includes advising both debtors and creditors, as well as other stakeholders in restructuring situations, including Chapter 11 proceedings, where he has testified as an expert witness on asset sales, valuation, plan feasibility, projections and other plan issues.

Prior to rejoining Blackhill, Mr. Gillett served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kimbia, Inc., a software company serving the $300 billion nonprofit industry. Under his leadership the company increased revenue by over 400 percent, received the Deloitte Fast 500 Award recognizing its position among the fastest growing 500 companies in America, and achieved market leadership in single-day charitable crowdfunding events.
At Blackhill, Mr. Gillett will again focus on M&A and restructuring advisory services. During his career, Mr. Gillett has been involved in over $20 billion in transactions in a diverse group of industries including oil and gas exploration and production, manufacturing, distribution, infrastructure development, software, telecommunications, oil field services, media, information technology, travel and restaurants, including assignments in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Latin America.
Prior to co-founding Blackhill in 1995, Mr. Gillett served as a Vice President in investment banking with CS First Boston (n/k/a Credit Suisse). While at First Boston, the majority of his efforts were focused on transactions in both upstream and downstream segments of the oil and gas industry. Dan began his business career at Price Waterhouse (n/k/a PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he was a certified public accountant in the firm's audit practice and also worked with PepsiCo, Inc. as a senior auditor.
Mr. Gillett received his MBA from Harvard Business School in finance and a BBA degree in Accounting from Harding University. He has also earned the Certified Public Accountant designation.
