Blair's Jungle Den, longtime Florida landmark and destination, set for auction
ASTOR, Fla., June 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For decades, Blair's Jungle Den on the St. John's River has been a favorite destination for fishermen, retirees, race fans and many others. Now, the 31-acre property is being sold in an online auction. Rowell Auctions, Inc. is marketing the property, which has 1,200 feet of river frontage.
"I used to bring my family here regularly when the kids were growing up, and we loved the fishing, especially when the bream were spawning, though there are plenty of bass and catfish too," said Tommy Rowell, chairman of the auction company.
The resort has 128 permitted mobile home lots and 42 permitted RV lots, which are still being used for guests. It also has a 44-unit motel and a self-contained sewage treatment plant.
"The owners enjoyed operating the Jungle Den for nearly a half century, but they're ready to pass it on to someone else. The possibilities are endless for commercial or even high-density residential use. I can envision waterfront dining, commercial marina with boat storage or beautiful waterfront homes lining the 1,200 feet of river frontage and 3,500 feet of canal frontage. It has been and may continue to serve as a mobile home park and RV park for fishermen and retirees. The location is hard to beat, just below Lake George, and an easy drive to the speedway, Daytona Beach, Ocala and much more," said Rowell.
Detailed information is available at RowellAuctions.com or by calling 800-323-8388. Bidding is scheduled to end Tuesday, July 18.
