Cordi served over thirty years with Maryland's Office of the Comptroller, concluding his tenure as Deputy Comptroller, and subsequently was deputy chief financial officer the District of Columbia's Office of Tax and Revenue.

"As the top tax official in both states, Steve earned the respect not only of those he directly served, but also of those throughout the state and local tax community who benefited from such an individual being part of that community. "We are delighted to recognize Steve's exceptional contributions in the field of state and local taxation," said George Farrah, Editorial Director, Bloomberg BNA's Tax & Accounting division. "Not only did Steve effectively restore public confidence in the D.C. tax office following the post-government theft scandal, he also safeguarded taxpayer identities and successfully battled fraudulent returns. He has been a true leader in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. tax community."

The result of his efforts is a comprehensive analysis of the key compliance issues facing corporations.
Stevens is a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, where he leads the firm's State & Local Tax practice. He also served as Director of the South Carolina Department of Revenue and as judge for the South Carolina Administrative Law Court.
"We are excited that Ray is this year's recipient of our State Tax Author of the year award for his work on South Carolina Corporate Income Tax," said Farrah.
