Blue Can Water Supports "READY Long Beach" Community Preparedness Expo to Educate and Prepare Residents for Emergencies
Creator of premium, emergency water aligns with inaugural community preparedness expo to educate public on water storage for all emergencies
LONG BEACH, Calif., Oct. 2 , 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Long Beach Fire Department CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), in partnership with the Long Beach Fire Department and other city departments and disaster response agencies, will host the first-ever "READY Long Beach" Community Preparedness Expo to help residents prepare for crises such as earthquakes, fires, floods, and acts of terrorism. The free public expo, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 4 at Heartwell Park in Long Beach, will feature emergency preparedness information/demonstrations, emergency supplies for purchase, a kid's fun zone, food for purchase and emergency response vehicles.
As a sponsor, Blue Can water promotes economical emergency water storage with the environment in mind. Its premium, purified water was created to provide fresh, long lasting, emergency drinking water in aluminum cans as the alternative to plastic water bottles. With California's drought, aluminum cans help minimize water wastage from expired stored plastic bottles.
The Adelphi Natural Disaster Survey (2012) found that 53% of Americans lack a minimum three-day supply of nonperishable food and water at home; 48% lack emergency supplies; and 55% believe local authorities will come to their rescue if disaster strikes.
