Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Arizona Expands Medicare Product Choices For Annual Open Enrollment Period

PHOENIX, Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) is now offering Arizona seniors new Medicare Advantage health plans through its affiliate, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Advantage (BCBSAZ Advantage) during the upcoming open enrollment season.

In addition to the Medicare Advantage plans available from BCBSAZ Advantage in metro Phoenix (Maricopa County and portions of Pinal), BCBSAZ will continue to offer six Medicare supplement plans and one prescription drug plan (PDP) statewide. These Medicare solutions are available for seniors enrolled in Medicare and can help cover medical, hospital, and prescription drug expenses that traditional Medicare does not cover.

The Medicare annual election period for the 2013 plan year is October 15 through December 7, 2012, with coverage taking effect on January 1, 2013.
