Blue, White, and Green - The international Competition for a Cleaner, Healthier Environment

CleanTech Open is a Silicon Valley based non-profit organization which operates the world's largest accelerator for clean-tech start-ups. Israel's contributions to clean technology makes it an ideal population to target for competitions like the CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition. The international competition began in 2007 and Israel joined in 2009. Since then, Israeli representatives have shown the world the capability of Israeli innovation.  

Alumni of CleanTech Open have gained worldwide exposure through their remarkable achievements. In 2013, Israel came in second place for its innovation called "GreenSpense." In the area of Chemicals & Advanced Materials, GreenSpense developed a propellant-free continuous dispensing technology that replaces aerosols, and in turn, eliminates gas from these containers, enabling reduced costs and eco-friendly packaging.

This year the competition in Israel will begin with registration, opening on May 22 and closing on July 15. After registration closes, a thorough judging process culminates in the national finale on September 10, 2014. The event will be held at Tel Aviv University Porter School of Environmental Studies for an audience of entrepreneurs, managers, investors, researchers, and government representatives. The winner will go on to compete in the global competition in November, held in San Jose, California. Last year, 28 teams from all over the world were represented in the finals.

About CleanTech Open 

CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition is a competition about green technology which takes place every November in the Silicon Valley. The competition is held as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). GEW is a global initiative with nearly 150 participating countries all aimed at developing and promoting new ideas, technology, and entrepreneurial spirit.
