Bob Recchia Named Chief Financial Officer at Crain Communications

DETROIT, July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bob Recchia has been named Chief Financial Officer at Crain Communications Inc., the Detroit-based, family-owned media company.

Recchia has more than 30 years of financial experience, most recently as executive vice president and CFO at Valassis Communications Inc. in Livonia. The digital marketing and couponing company was acquired by Harland Clarke Holdings in 2014.

Recchia will lead Crain Communications' overall financials, budgets, business plans and revenue-building strategies.

A graduate of Wayne State University and a former auditor at Deloitte, Recchia joined Valassis in 1982 as treasurer and became CFO in 1990.  He oversaw all acquisitions and joint ventures, and was also responsible for developing Valassis' tax strategies and improving its debt structure during both private and public ownership. He also served as a member of that company's board of directors. 

During his tenure, Valassis' revenue grew from $100 million to more than $2.4 billion.  He also was part of their executive leadership team that developed an award-winning culture, which was named to Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work For" for nine consecutive years.

Recchia lives in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
