WASHINGTON, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This Memorial Day Weekend, Americans will gather to honor our veterans and those who defend our nation. Following the recent news and hearings related to POW/MIA Accounting issues, on March 31st, 2014, Secretary of Defense Hagel announced the establishment of a new Defense Agency that reorganizes the Government entities involved in the location, exhumation, and identification of our missing servicemembers.
The new agency has the potential to dramatically increase the number and rate of identifications of our fallen. This is a welcome change to fulfill the solemn pledge to "leave no man behind".
Please join us at the National Press Club on May 23rd from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm as speakers representing cases, families, and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) from World War II, Korea/Cold War, Vietnam, and the Gulf War, provide their insights, experiences, and opinions on the current and future plans to provide fullest possible accounting of our missing. In addition, experts in the field of human identification will present examples of large-scale and individual identification of the missing.
The event location will be in the Holeman Lounge of the National Press Club at:
