Boston Criminal Defense Attorney Joseph Keegan Discusses Boston Bombing Mastermind's Widow
Attorney Joseph Keegan - Partner at the Boston criminal defense law firm of Keegan & Novick - recently appeared on MyFoxBoston to share his insight on the Boston Bombing mastermind's widow.
BOSTON, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013 shocked the country after 3 victims were killed and more than 250 others injured. In the year that followed the attack, officials have been working tirelessly to piece together what exactly happened, and why. In a recent piece aired on MyFoxBoston, a new focus has been placed on the mysteries surrounding the Boston Bombing mastermind's widow Katherine Russell.
Although Russell has never been officially linked to the attack, questions have circulated about what she knew. During the segment, criminal defense lawyer and former police officer Joe Keegan commented that because the case and investigation are still open, there is still much that can be unearthed.
Keegan goes on to share his thoughts on questions regarding Russell's involvement in the attack. As revealed by recently released court documents, the pressure cookers used to make the bombs were purchased at a Macy's in Crossing. The documents also suggest that a woman was present with the shoppers. Additionally, authorities believe that the bombs may have been constructed in the apartment where Russell lived with Tsarnaev and their daughter.
According to Keegan, Russell's statements that she was frequently working and unaware of what was taking place in her own home will likely lead to more questions. He stated that while these points may not mean anything in and of themselves, the totality of all evidence can create suspicion and tip the scales. Still, it will remain up to prosecutors as to whether Russell will be charged with anything.
