ATLANTA, Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Within hours of the opening ceremony of the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, beverage entrepreneur Matti Anttila and emerging wine importer Votto Vines have announced their partnership to expand the Brazilian wine category in the United States.
Votto Vines CEO, Mike Votto noted, "We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with Matti and his team on this exciting endeavor. We have always sought to differentiate our business and working in this exciting category will continue that trend."
The current wine portfolio of wholly owned and imported Brazilian brands assembled by Matti Anttila includes Carnaval Sparkling Wine, Brazilian Soul, Aurora Cellars, and Fausto Tannat. Carnaval, Brazilian Soul, and Aurora are produced by Cooperativa Vinícola Aurora, the largest winery in Brazil. Fausto Tannat is produced by the award-winning Brazilian boutique producer Pizzato.
"The land of sun, sand and samba is also a land with a rich history in wine making. The import partnership with Votto Vines, one of the most dynamic emerging wine companies in the U.S. gives us a fantastic opportunity to introduce American consumers to some of the most interesting wines emerging from South America."
The fifth largest wine producer in the Southern Hemisphere, Brazilian wine exports have surged in recent years, emerging in the United States as an up and coming region to watch. Already featured in leading retailers such as Harris Teeter, the new partnership will drive expansion of the portfolio nationwide over the next 12 months.
